The rich history of Chilton & House LLP, has its roots in 1967 when Bob House moved his practice to Salinas from Reno, Nevada. Later in 1971 he , along with Sam Lavorato, formed the law firm of Lavorato & House. The partnership was formed with the intention of serving the needs of individuals, families, professionals, and various business entities. Over the past 40-plus years, the firm has seen many changes, none more fulfilling than the admission of the next generation of family lawyers, especially Bob's son and business partner Gregory Chilton.
With a rich history and a combined with almost 70 years of experience Chilton & House LLP was formed on September 1, 2011. Greg Chilton and Robert House have been meeting the legal needs of its clients in the areas of estate planning, trusts and probate law, real estate, corporate law, and business entities and transactions for many years formerly as Lavorato House Chilton Lavorato and continues the tradition as Chilton & House.
The two men have been very involved in the community, especially in leadership roles of many local professional and non-profit organizations. Most recently, Greg was elected chairperson of the board directors of Legal Services for Seniors and was appointed to the board of directors of the Community Foundation for Monterey County. Bob is a past chairpersonof both the Community Foundation for Monterey County and the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation. Both men have been recognized by their peers and numerous community groups for their contributions for the betterment of the region.
